As I sit here and write this blog, I am all alone. Elle, the truck that I have called home for the past 8 weeks, has driven off into the Santiago haze with all my mates on it destined for thier next adventure, leaving me behind to board an 18 hour flight back to reality. The last girl just left for the airport, so now I am all alone and getting bored with doing shit things just to fill in the time.
The last few weeks of the trip have been, to a certain extent, uneventful in terms of seeing things. Obviously the salt flats were unreal and moon valley was nice. Having some time in the sun by the pool in tiny Vicuña was relaxing and then we hit the big smoke of Santiago. My last meal with the old people was great and we had a massive night out, rocking home at 4am, only to sit and drink more wine in the hotel room. I think at some point I feel asleep on a couch. To get over the hangover the next day I consumed a Quarter Pounder, 4 nuggest, Large fries and a coke and then about an hour later had a whopper with cheese and even then still managed to go out for a massive dinner. Haven´t done a lot in Santiago to be honest, think that I am suffering from PHD - Post Holiday Depression - and I haven´t even left yet.
I went to the Pharmacy to get some face wipes for the massive journey home and it was like a mission to Mars. First I picked up the item that I wanted and the lady scanned it, put it in a little bag and then gave me a receipt, which I then had to take to the back of the shop, get in a line longer that the great wall of China, pay, get another receipt, take that back to the original counter where the lady looked at me like she was seeing me for the first time and then sorted through all the little bags until she find mine, took the receipt, gave me another and then sent me on my way! Talk about the long way around! Am looking forward to going home and getting things done fast. Its funny though how I am getting annoyed at this when I have all the time in the world today and the purpose of holidays is to get less stressed, not more.
Anyway, in 18 hours or so I will be back in Oz and I am not sure what that will entail for the nect few weeks, but I do know that I am booked in for a float tank and 1 hour massage not 3 hours from when I touch down, so I guess I can´t complain too much.
