Of Mountains and Pie

So, The Nazca Lines were amazing and even though there were several times on the flight that I thought that I was going to be sick due to the turbulence and the twisting of the plane, it was great and I enjoyed the experience. Certainly puts into perspective the possibility of life on other planets.

Hit Lima which was big and noisy and then we went to Arequipa which was one my favourite towns so far. It was really pretty and had a massive spanish influence and was also the spot of my first taste of Alpaca. Yum Yum. We got to Cusco, which is also turning into being one of my Fav cities and we went up the Inca Trail. Day one was nice paced, but day 2 consisted of a 4400 climb and it was a bit of a killer, but the altititude was not as bad as I thought and I made it up and over the pass. Snow the next night stopped us from doing the 4800 pass, but we made it to Machu Picchu in the end, which was the point in the first place and it was amazing. Just sitting there was an experience in itself. We head into Boliva in a few days and then off to Chile and my trip is almost over.

New people have arrived on the truck and it is good to have some fresh faces and we are all getting along fine. Heading off in a minute for coffee and the best lemon pie I have ever eaten before dinner to celebrate one of the Tour leaders Birthdays, which should be a good night out.

Will be seeing you all soon. Mwah x x x x
