of Xmas, New Year and same old same olds

Christmas was lovely in the cold with Heather and her mummy and we sat in our pj's all day, ate a big fat chicken and ham dinner and drank wine, gin and champagne all day long. It was great. It was a nice day and it was a change from the usual heat of Aussie Xmas, except when I heard that it was cold and rainy at home and my family ate roast lamb for dinner! Damn it.

New Year was a good one at one of our local pubs. We ate a nice three course meal with gin, wine and champagne (is anyone sensing a pattern here?) and then wandered up to the local pub and had some more drinks and saw the new year in with a bang and a laugh.

I think that the most surprising thing and also sometimes confusing is the fact that nothing seems to have changed. I went to visit some friends in Stoke where I lived when I was here and the lady in the news agency said "oh I haven't seen you for so long, how long have you been gone?" to wish I answered "oh, about 3 years". Nothing changed. Its the same old same old and it was semi depressing honestly that life just seems to have slipped into a time warp and I am running past and no one seems to understand why. Strange...

Heading to Poland on Monday for 3 days, which will be freezing but hopefully a nice break from London..

Mwah x
