So, after my few days of hobbling around Quito with a small bandage on my knee, I was still concerned about the swelling, but feeling better about the fact that I could almost walk properly. But, just to double check, I went to the Dr and with some broken Spanish managed to explain the situation and had an X-Ray which showed...... A broken leg! Well not serious, but a small part of the bone has snapped off, so now I am sporting a bright green thigh to ankle plaster and am hobbling worse than before beacuse I should not be bending it. I can barley fit my jeans over the cast it is so big! 2 hours after having this monster applied to my leg, it is beginning to itch and feels sweaty and I have 3 weeks of this. Lucky me!
Anyway, In 3 weeks (or less if I can help it) I will saw it off and hopefully be fine for the Inca Trail. What timing hey? Quito is nice, but it has been raining a lot due to the high altitude, so I guess now I have a reason for staying inside..
Hope this finds the rest of you well and cast free.
