Of Oysters and the Big Freeze

I was expecting total frozen land when I got to London, but it really wasn't that bad and even though warm winter clothes have not arrived, or arrived and are half way back to Australia, or will arrive on the day that I am due to leave London, I have made a trip to primark where everything costs nothing just about and am now warm.

Getting on the tube from the airport felt so natural and I have been feeling like I almost haven't even left London. However, the introduction of the Oyster card has simplified everything and I am in love with this concept. One little card, topped up with money is touched onto a little counter thing (this is the technical name) when you enter a tube station and when you leave at the other end, the computer in the counter thing knows where you have come from and how much money to deduct. Further, once you reach a certain money limit it caps and you pay nothing more. Isn't this amazing? Well I think so and that is all that matters.

Am now lounging on the couch watching DVD's and hurting my brain trying to sort out travel plans to get to see everyone and everything that I want to do here, as well as think about getting home and worrying about getting a job, cause a) I am skint; b) I have to face reality at some point and c) I'm really skint..... Well off to have some yummy oxtail soup and bludge some more and dream of the hot Xmas dinner I am going to have on Monday, although I am still jealous of you all in the sun for Xmas and the boxing day match.... I wonder if the Walkabout will show it. Ha ha
